Narus Customer Profiles
One third of the world's largest carriers use Narus solutions. Below are Narus customer highlights, and how they are using NarusInsight application module suites to help them profitably manage, secure and deliver Services over IP.
at&t Inc. is one of the world’s largest telecommunications holding companies and is the largest in the United States. They are recognized as the leading worldwide provider of IP-based communications services to business and as the leading U.S. provider of high-speed DSL Internet. NarusInsight is deployed across at&t’s backbone network, and is integral to their ability to manage and secure their traffic.
Brasil Telecom, one of the largest telecommunications companies in Brazil, has leveraged NarusInsight to implement the industry's first solution to effectively identify and collect unclaimed revenues due to the "revenue leakage" of unmanaged IP services such as VoIP. Using IBM BladeCenter hardware and the NarusInsight Discover Suite (NDS), Brasil Telecom can now efficiently manage revenue streams across services running on their networks.
Narus, together with integration partner NEC, have been working together for more than five years building one of the largest, most progressive third-generation (3G) mobile networks in Japan for the Japanese carrier KDDI. NarusInsight Discover Suite serves as the mediation platform for KDDI's EVDO and IXRT networks. In addition, KDDI's recent expansion of the solution now includes support of their innovative new PC Site Viewer product, a browser that enables mobile handsets to access regular PC Web pages. NarusInsight continues to be the mediation system of choice across KDDI's entire network, providing detailed customer usage and targeted billing information for all IP services.
Korea Telecom (KT) has implemented its network security strategy around the NarusInsight Secure Suite (NSS). A component of Datacraft's TAPS system, NSS now enables security coverage across the majority of Korea Telecom's nationwide network. NSS provides behavior-based anomaly detection for the KT network, creating the information critical to protecting against a multitude of viruses, worms and denial-of-service attacks. Leveraging NarusInsight's ability to correlate security data across all their network links, KT can detect attacks faster and with statistically higher accuracy than with any other system.
Headquartered in the Netherlands, KPN is the first carrier in the world to offer i-mode mobile data services to customers on a prepaid basis. These services include browsing i-mode sites, email, MMS, chat, downloading ring tones and games, making/sending/receiving photos, and secure banking. Powered by NarusInsight Discover Suite, KPN's carrier-grade prepaid data solution allows them to reach beyond their existing customer base to attract a new class of customer, while significantly growing their Average Revenue per User (ARPU).
Saudi Telecom, the preeminent telecommunications provider in the region, is employing the NarusInsight Discover Suite's VoIP detection application module to recover revenue that would otherwise be lost through unregulated VoIP traffic. Deployed by Narus Partner Giza Systems, NarusInsight captures and analyzes all VoIP traffic in the Saudi Telecom network. The VoIP detection module provides the real time information necessary for Saudi Telecom to block traffic destined for unregistered international VoIP gateways, thereby enforcing tariffed gateway regulations. NarusInsight is the leading choice for managing IP services in the Middle East largely because of its ability to successfully address critical business issues like VoIP detection in real-time.
Telecom Egypt, the premier carrier in Egypt, has employed NarusInsight Secure Suite to protect their corporate network against system anomalies such as DoS, DDoS, viruses and worm attacks. Telecom Egypt has also deployed the Discover Suite to monitor and report all VoIP traffic usage through the Telecom Egypt IP Network. Narus' Partner, Giza Systems, implemented the system across the core backbone routers that, in turn, feed into all of Telecom Egypt's financial datacenter applications.
T-Mobile's implementation of NarusInsight Discover Suite enables their profitable, new GPRS value-based services. The NDS serves as the mediation platform for billing by collecting accurate usage activity and key business information from T-Mobile's network. This information provides T-Mobile the flexibility to create and offer innovative new services to both their consumer and business customers quickly, while minimizing operational costs.
U.S. Cellular Corporation has deployed NarusInsight Discover Suite for the company's messaging and easyedgeSM data application services. U.S. Cellular is utilizing the solution for all volume and content-based data billing mediation across their customer base of more than 4.9 million subscribers in 148 markets in 25 states.
