Narus Convergent Mediation Platform Employed by NEC to Drive New Mobile Services
Leading global Internet solutions provider selects Narus as its mediation platform for mobile operators in Asia and South America
Palo Alto, CA and Tokyo, Japan—September 23, 2002—Narus and NEC today announced that NEC Corporation will offer all components of the Narus convergent mediation software platform throughout Asia and South America for both voice and data services as a part of NEC’s total solution. NEC is providing a complete, carrier-grade mediation solution to major mobile operators leveraging Narus software platform and their own business consulting services. NEC selected Narus as their mediation supplier based on Narus lead in the mobile Internet market and the carrier-grade capabilities of Narus’ convergent mediation platform. The two companies have already worked together successfully with major mobile operators, including Japan’s largest 3G provider.
NEC is a world leader in the Internet solutions business including the manufacture and sales of computers, communications equipment, electron devices and software and is a major supplier to many of the world’s largest telecommunications companies. NEC will offer a complete solution to telecommunications companies consisting of Narus’ convergent mediation platform, business consulting services, and on-going support. This solution enables the creation of new mobile services and capturing the associated value for these services by feeding key information to the associated billing systems. NEC has been trained on the Narus platform and is providing customer support.
