China certification

Mountain View, Calif.—July 13, 2005—Narus, Inc., the world’s leading provider of unified IP Management and Security Platform, today announced that its carrier-class IP platform is the only system of its kind to be certified by the China Information Technology Security Certification Center (CNITSEC). This unprecedented certification provides Chinese telecom carriers with the confidence that Narus products meet GB/T18336 (idt. ISO/IEC 15408) and related IT security standards set by the Chinese government, and are safe for use in carriers’ networks.

“Narus’ carrier-class IP platform is the first and only foreign IP management and security system ever certified by us,” said Wang Haisheng, director of CNITSEC. “Narus’ approach to IP data capture, analysis and management provides telecom carriers with a total network view to protect their network infrastructure. After months of rigorous testing and evaluation, Narus’ solution proved to meet our stringent IT security criteria.”

Designed to fulfill national IT security certifications, the CNITSEC establishes a whole set of guidelines to ensure the creation of quality products. As part of its endeavor for quality and security across carrier networks, the CNITSEC certified Narus’ unified IP management and security platform to protect China’s major telecom carriers against malicious network attacks. Narus and its partners Taiji and Guoan will now be able to provide carriers, such as China Telecom, China Netcom, China Mobile and China Unicom, with a powerful management and security tool.

“The certification of Narus’ unified IP management and security platform by Chinese authoritative information security certification body is another significant step in securing Narus’ position as the leader in providing IP management and security to Chinese telecom carriers,” said Dr Weiming Li, vice president and general manager for Narus’ Asia/Pacific region. “This certification, along with our current deployments and trials, demonstrates to all carriers in the region the incredible value of our solution.”

Narus’ IP management and security platform provides carriers with the real-time IP knowledge necessary to protect and manage their complex and rapidly expanding networks. With solutions for protecting critical infrastructure from attack, traffic analysis and management, lawful interception and content-based billing, Narus provides carriers with a full suite of IP solutions all on a single platform. This approach provides a total network view of IP traffic, demonstrating unparalleled performance, while saving carriers tens of millions of dollars in capital and operational costs.
