New Narus Lawful Intercept Software Provides Scaleable and Network Agnostic Solution

Only Narus Delivers Lawful Intercept Product and Suite of Carrier-Class Security Applications Designed for Single IP Platform

February 15, 2005, Mountain View, CA — Narus, Inc., the leading carrier-class IP platform software provider, today announced the expansion of its IP Monitoring suite of products and services with the unveiling of Narus Lawful Intercept (NarusLI®). NarusLI has features designed to help customers cost-effectively comply with lawful intercept regulations around the world on a single Narus IP Platform that can be scaled for future and multiple applications including, Traffic Anomaly Detection and Analysis, IP mediation and VoIP analysis.

Designed to the Lawfully Authorized Electronic Surveillance (LAES) model, NarusLI enables compliance with CALEA and ETSI standards and is currently being deployed with large U.S. and Global carriers. NarusLI is an effective solution for carriers with the staff and expertise to properly execute intercept orders, with carrier-grade scalability for managed security service providers wishing to offer their service to carrier customers. Both of these environments are available in simple configurations with low incremental capital investment.

"Since 1997, Narus has been developing IP Monitoring products and services to meet the changing needs of Tier-1 Carriers and governments around the world," said Jay Thomas, vice president of product marketing, Narus. "NarusLI, is an extension of that expertise and enables companies to achieve CALEA compliance at a relatively low incremental cost by installing the application on their existing Narus IP Platform. Customers who are installing NarusLI and the IP Platform for the first time have the flexibility to add new applications in the future, realizing additional savings and efficiencies."

Key features of NarusLI include:

  • Warrant Management System: for securely managing resources, LEA connections and users while performing audits and reporting
  • Streaming Interface: compliant with all CALEA and ETSI standards
  • Subject Targeting: including, NAI, IP Address, MIN, IMSI, EMEI, username, phone number, URI, e-mail address
  • Network and Vendor Agnostic: Wireline, mobile wireless or Wi-Fi™; GPRS, CDMA or IP
  • Carrier-Class IP Platform: Provide with multiple Tier-1 Carriers worldwide; speeds from Fast Ethernet to Gigabit and OC-192

"The phenomenal growth of IP-based communications such as VoIP and e-mails are changing the way companies operate and how lawmakers regulate data over networks — companies want to become CALEA compliant without a huge investment," said Thomas. "Our NarusLI product is a triple threat: it is vendor agnostic, service agnostic and network agnostic; making it an extremely cost-effective solution to deploy. It is already being used by major carriers throughout the world."

Narus will be at RSA 2005 in San Francisco, CA, February 15-17 at Narus’ booth, #1121.
