Narus Solution Expanded to Include Latest KDDI Innovation, the PC Site Viewer Application
Mountain View, Calif.—September 26, 2005—Narus, Inc. today announced that top Japanese carrier KDDI has expanded its licensing agreement with Narus to include its new PC Site Viewer application. Narus and KDDI, along with their integration partner NEC, have been working together for more than five years building one of the largest, most progressive third-generation (3G) mobile networks in Japan.
Narus is the mediation platform for KDDI’s EVDO and IXRT networks. With the expansion of Narus’ mediation solution to KDDI’s PC Site Viewer, a browser that enables mobile handsets to access regular PC Web pages, Narus continues to be the mediation solution for all of KDDI’s network, providing detailed customer usage information for all IP services.
“KDDI’s decision to use Narus for its PC Site Viewer marks the fourth time they have chosen our platform for use in their 3G network in the past five years,” said Greg Oslan, CEO of Narus. “Our longstanding relationship with KDDI and our partner NEC, combined with our scalable product offering, have been instrumental in helping KDDI define new services and applications within their 3G network.”
The world’s mobile operators are struggling to define new services and applications within 3G networks. As the largest 3G operator in the world, KDDI has been aggressively and successfully enhancing its data and content service throughout Japan. Narus’ solution contributes to their inherent ability to process more traffic, faster, with 100 percent accuracy, allowing KDDI to derive move value from their 3G networks.
